Energy Smart Company completed one of the first solar hot water installations in Omaha, Nebraska.  This installation features two of Velux's industry leading collectors which are step flashed into the roof line.  With its aesthetically appealing design, the collectors appear identical to Velux skylights.  The plumbing features two 40 meter runs of insulated stainless steel flex tube.  The 80 gallon tank is manufactured by Heat Transfer Products and features electric backup.  The residence will save 80% on water heating costs and will achieve a payback period under eight years with the 30% federal tax credit.
